Fan Fiction

For the past 3 days, I have been writing a fan fiction about The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins (If you have never heard of The Hunger Games, Google it, Bing it, AOL it, Yahoo! it, whatever). Anyway, I was writing and writing and I saw that my writing didn't look right, so I deleted it.

I really wanted the first chapter to be good, but how do you write a novel? I figured that writing a novel needed examples of what the novel needed to look like, and what better novel than The Hunger Games book itself?

I figured I could ask Ms. Paez, my 6th grade English and Social Studies teacher, to borrow a copy since we read as a class last year.

Asking her was, sadly, one of those ideas that makes my brain excited for no reason.

Through out all day today, I was so anxious to ask her, I didn't even pay attention at my assignments.

At lunch, I knew I was able to finally ask Ms. Paez the object my heart was on all day: a copy of The Hunger Games. And this is probably how the conversation went:

Me: Hi, Ms. Paez.

Ms. Paez: Hi, Blake! Long time no see, how is everything?

Me: Oh fine. Anyway, Um, while I'm, Um, here, Um, could, Um, I, Um, borrow, Um, a, Um, copy, Um, The, Um, Hunger, Um, Games, Um?

Ms. Paez: Of course! Why are you so nervous?

Me: Um, no, Um, reason, Um.

Why was I so nervous? I don't know.

When school was over, I got on Grampa M's computer and I used the book to finish the first chapter of my fan fiction.
